PIA's Human Resources Commitment Pledge

The Human Resources Committee of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association of Puerto Rico (PIA-PR) is committed to defend and respect the human dignity of the workforce and the Puerto Rican community; to maintain a high level of ethical conduct at all levels; to the reward and recognition of employees within the pharmaceutical industry; and to be business partners with PIA's Executive Committee on its strategic plan while setting the direction to accomplish the best Human Resources (HR) practices.

Human Resources Chapter Objectives

In order to meet the commitment stated in our Pledge, we have defined our objectives as follows: benchmarking and sharing best practices; lobbying with government; and keeping abreast the HR professional skills.

By benchmarking and sharing best practices we keep our members aware of the latest trends and help them to be better prepared to face the market threats that affect our industry.

Lobbying with government contributes to communicate our industry's point of views regarding issues that affect our employees and our operations. Letting government officials know about the pharmaceutical industry's needs and the effect that new legislation might have in our operations, is extremely important for the well being of our industry.

One of our objectives is also making sure to keep abreast the HR professional of the skills needed in today's marketplace. It is extremely important to be capable to successfully meet the needs that the pharmaceutical industry has of our HR professionals by contributing to their continuous training and development.
